Rampage Jackson Confirms Grudge Match against Former TUF Contestant Darrill Schoonover

Former Ultimate Fighter head coach Quinton “Rampage” Jackson has announced he will finally settle a 14-year grudge with contestant Darrill Schoonover in the cage, following an infamous feud during the reality show.

Quinton “Rampage” Jackson is ready to settle a decade-old grudge with Darrill Schoonover that began back in 2009 on season 10 of “The Ultimate Fighter”. Boosted by notable MMA combatants such as Rashad Evans and Kimbo Slice, the season was also the background of a personal feud between Jackson and Schoonover. Jackson, as head coach of the team, had a unique gripe with Schoonover, a contestant on the show and the sixth overall pick of Evans. The spat originated from Jackson joking about Schoonover’s physique, leading to a tense situation between both, which included heated moments such as going nose-to-nose.

The feud escalated when Schoonover indicated he would win the competition, drop down to light heavyweight and defeat Jackson. His claim spurred Jackson to further ridicule Schoonover during the season. Jackson recently revealed that after 14 years, they are planning to settle their rivalry in the cage. Jackson announced his readiness to return to combat based on his appearance on the JAXXON podcast. “The promoter [of UFL] wanted me to fight,” Jackson stated. “I was like, ‘OK, I’ll come back and fight grudge matches only.’ So, I’m going to fight ‘Titties’ from The Ultimate Fighter. He just signed the contract, like yesterday or today for December. Yeah, I’ll be in shape. By that time, I’ll be 230, hopefully, and I’ll fight ‘Titties.’”

Neither Jackson nor Schoonover have participated in a fight recently, with Jackson’s last battle resulting in a knockout by Fedor Emelianenko at Bellator 237 in 2019. Additionally, Schoonover has mostly remained inactive since a DQ loss in 2015. Jackson explained that he managed to draw Schoonover back into the ring by making him an offer he could not resist. Jackson quoted, “The way I got ‘Titties’ to fight was, I told him, ‘Look, if you beat me, I will never call you ‘Titties’ again,.” and according to Jackson, Schoonover readily agreed.

Throughout all these years, Jackson insisted he did nothing wrong, implying that his lingering resentment played a part in this decision. Jackson confessed that Schoonover is still antagonistic towards him due to the past incidents. People who knew them from “The Ultimate Fighter” accused Jackson of bullying, but he contended that he was simply adding a comic touch to the reality show. Initially, Schoonover seemed to embrace the nickname, but when his own teammates began using it, Jackson was viewed negatively.
