Former Bellator lightweight champ Patricky Pitbull has signed with RIZIN and is set to fight on July 27 in Saitama, Japan. Exciting, right?
Back in 2019, Pitbull represented Bellator in a RIZIN lightweight tournament. Now, he steps into the ring as a bona fide RIZIN fighter against Shunta Nomura.
In that grand prix, the Brazilian knocked out Tatsuya Kawajiri and Luiz Gustavo before losing to Tofiq Musayev in the final. He made a comeback in Japan in 2023 by knocking out current lightweight champ Roberto Satoshi. Quite the journey!
Nomura, on the other hand, snagged a technical decision over Gustavo in his RIZIN debut this March. This win bumped his record to 9-2, with four knockouts. Impressive stats!
Super RIZIN 4 promises more action. Bantamweight champ Naoki Inoue and super atomweight queen Seika Izawa will defend their titles against Ryuya Fukuda and Yu Jin Shin, respectively. Can’t wait!
Razhabali Shaydullaev, fresh off claiming featherweight gold with a knockout of Kleber Koike, is also expected on the card. His opponent? Still a mystery.
Speaking of Koike, he’s set for a rematch with Mikuru Asakura. Their first clash in June 2021 ended with Koike’s triangle choke victory. Asakura recently bounced back, TKO-ing ex-champ Chihiro Suzuki.
Also on the lineup: Masanori Kanehara vs. Ya-Man, Karshyga Dautbek vs. Kyoma Akimoto, and Moeri Suda vs. Noel. A packed card!
