Sean Strickland Denies Dan Henderson’s Gym Expulsion Claims

Sean Strickland and Dan Henderson disagree on the reasons for their training partnership ending, with Henderson citing Strickland’s disrespectful behavior and Strickland attributing it to the gym’s decline after Henderson’s retirement, though both express mutual respect.

Sean Strickland and Dan Henderson have differing takes on why their training partnership ended. Henderson claims Strickland’s trash talk at Team Quest rubbed people the wrong way. He mentioned that Strickland was "too disrespectful," leading to their split.

Henderson revisited this topic on Mike Perry’s Overdogs Podcast. He described how Strickland got into arguments, then took those disputes online. Henderson warned him multiple times before finally saying, "Hey dude, you’ve got to go."

Despite the issues, Henderson admitted Strickland was a good training partner. He appreciated having someone who went hard in the gym. Strickland, however, disputes Henderson’s account on Instagram.

Strickland insists none of it is true. He claims he left because the fight team dwindled after Henderson retired. Yet, he admits to making fun of the team, joking about their yoga sessions.

Known for his inflammatory comments, Strickland’s behavior didn’t stop him from becoming a UFC champion. He beat Israel Adesanya for the middleweight title but lost it to Dricus du Plessis four months later.

Strickland acknowledges his temper issues at Team Quest, often triggered by teammates skipping sparring for yoga. He humorously recalls his "massive gym blowups."

Despite their disagreements, Strickland and Henderson share mutual respect. Strickland praises Henderson, saying if Henderson saw the yoga sessions, he’d have been throwing "H bombs" too.
