Stephen Thompson vs Gabriel Bonfim at UFC Nashville

Stephen Thompson will return to the octagon at UFC Nashville, facing Gabriel Bonfim, as part of a Fight Night headlined by Derrick Lewis versus Tallison Teixeira.

Stephen Thompson is making his comeback this summer at UFC Nashville. Exciting times ahead!

The event, headlined by Derrick Lewis, a 40-fight heavyweight veteran, against the undefeated Tallison Teixeira, promises fireworks. Plus, Thompson’s return against Gabriel Bonfim adds to the thrill.

“Wonderboy,” with a record of 17-8-1 professionally and 12-8-1 in the octagon, aims to break a two-fight losing streak. He’ll face the Brazilian after losses to Shavkat Rakhmonov and Joaquin Buckley.

Thompson’s last win? December 2022, when he stopped Kevin Holland. He challenged for UFC gold in 2016 after a stellar start, winning eight of his first nine UFC fights. However, he’s only managed four wins in his last 12.

Bonfim, 14 years Thompson’s junior, has been impressive, winning four of five UFC bouts. After a surprise loss to Nicolas Dalby in 2023, he bounced back with victories over Ange Loosa and Khaos Williams.

Known as “Marretinha,” Bonfim, a former LFA welterweight champ, has a knack for submissions. He scored first-round chokes in his first three UFC appearances, including a Von Flue choke on Dana White’s Contender Series and guillotines against Mounir Lazzez and Trevin Giles.

It’s shaping up to be a night full of action and surprises. Can’t wait to see how it unfolds!
