Jackson McVey will debut on a UFC pay-per-view card at UFC 318, stepping in on short notice to fight Brunno Ferreira after Ikram Aliskerov withdrew due to injury.
Jackson McVey’s making his UFC pay-per-view debut, and it’s happening sooner than expected. He’s stepping in with less than two weeks’ notice to fight Brunno Ferreira at UFC 318. The event’s set for July 19 at Smoothie King Arena in New Orleans. Laerte Viana was the first to spill the beans on this matchup.
McVey’s replacing Ikram Aliskerov, who broke a toe during training for Ferreira. Aliskerov shared the unfortunate news on Instagram. Previously, McVey was supposed to fight Christopher Ewert at UFC 317, but that got scrapped when Ewert missed weight. “The Moose,” as McVey’s known, last fought in June at LFA 210, finishing his opponent in just 98 seconds. Impressive stuff.
On the other hand, Ferreira’s no stranger to the octagon, making his seventh appearance. He’s aiming for his fifth UFC win. His last fight? A slick armbar submission against Armen Petrosyan at UFC 313. “The Hulk” is definitely someone to watch.
UFC 318’s got more in store, with Dustin Poirier‘s career finale headlining the event. He’s taking on Max Holloway for the BMF title in a trilogy bout. Can’t miss this one!
