UFC Hall of Famer Pat Miletich was arrested on his third drunken driving charge after being found asleep in his idling vehicle, showing signs of intoxication such as bloodshot eyes and slurred speech, and refusing to take sobriety tests.
Pat Miletich, a UFC Hall of Famer, was arrested on his third drunken driving charge early Thursday morning. The incident occurred at approximately 6:16 a.m. local time when he was taken into custody by Bettendorf, Iowa police after they received distressed calls about a wrong-way driver. According to KWQC, citing a police report from the Bettendorf Police Department, officers reportedly roused Miletich from sleep within an idling vehicle. The officers reportedly observed “fresh damage to vegetation growing on a retaining wall” in a Shell parking lot, which seemed to match damage at the front of Miletich’s vehicle.
The police report further indicated Miletich’s refusal to comply with field sobriety tests, a blood test, and a Breathalyzer. He apparently presented with watery, bloodshot eyes, unsteady balance, and slurred speech, while emitting the smell of alcohol. Miletich also allegedly confessed to consuming wine. The 55-year-old was released later that Thursday morning, at around 7:59 a.m., on a $5,000 bond.
Miletich has faced two prior convictions relating to drunken driving, which occurred in March 2019 and June 2021. Despite having legal troubles, Miletich appeared at a press conference in Davenport, Iowa later that day. He was there to promote his scheduled return bout against UFC veteran Mike Jackson, aged 38. The fight is the main event at Cage Aggression 36, set to take place on October 14.
