UFC Vegas 108 is shaping up nicely. The event, set for Aug. 2 at UFC APEX in Las Vegas, will feature a headline flyweight contender bout. Amir Albazi (17-2) faces Tatsuro Taira (16-1), a matchup first reported by MMA Fighting.
In the MMA Fighting Global Rankings, Albazi holds the No. 7 spot at 125 pounds, just ahead of Taira at No. 8. A clash of titans, indeed.
Also announced for UFC Vegas 108 are several intriguing bouts. Undefeated middleweight prospect Torrez Finney (11-0) will take on Azamat Bekoev (20-3). Plus, top 10 bantamweight Karol Rosa (18-7) faces off against Nora Cornolle (9-2).
Finney, who earned his UFC contract on Dana White’s Contender Series, made a successful octagon debut in April. He narrowly defeated The Ultimate Fighter 32 finalist Robert Valentin by split decision. Now, he faces Bekoev, who boasts an eight-fight win streak and a 2-0 UFC record.
Rosa is looking to bounce back after losing three of her last four fights, including a unanimous decision to Ailin Perez in January. Cornolle, meanwhile, aims to climb the rankings with a 3-1 UFC record.
Flyweight Andre Lima (11-0) is also set to compete, seeking his fifth UFC victory against Felipe Bunes (14-7). Exciting times ahead!
