UFC Vegas 79: Marina Rodriguez Earns $50,000 Bonus for Dominant Stoppage of Michelle Waterson-Gomez

Strawweight contender Marina Rodriguez and featherweight veteran Charles Jourdain each won a $50,000 Performance of the Night bonus at UFC Vegas 79, while Tim Means and Andre Fialho won Fight of the Night honors, also with a $50,000 bonus each.

At UFC Vegas 79, Marina Rodriguez, a 36-year-old strawweight contender, made a triumphant return in her first bonus win since 2021. She managed to secure an additional $50,000 following her impressive victory over Michelle Waterson-Gomez during Saturday’s main card event. Her second-round stoppage of Waterson-Gomez earned her the Performance of the Night honors and helped snap a two-fight losing streak in an impressive way.

The card’s other Performance of the Night honor was claimed by featherweight veteran Charles Jourdain. He snatched his bonus through a first-round guillotine choke finishing off of Ricardo Ramos in the opening round of the main card. The UFC Vegas 79 event successfully attracted both the fighter’s fans’ attention and managed to register some exciting victories.

To end the event, the final two bonuses of the night were awarded to Tim Means and Andre Fialho. They earned the Fight of the Night honors for their welterweight brawl during the preliminary card. The intense and lusty fight battle saw Means emerge victoriously defeating Fialho via a third-round TKO. UFC Vegas 79 was held on Sept. 23 at the UFC APEX in Las Vegas, where Mateusz Gamrot won over Rafael Fiziev through an injury stoppage in a lightweight contenders’ main event. All fight bonuses were valued at $50,000.
