Upcoming UFC Event: Miesha Tate Targets Julia Avila for a Showdown

A UFC women’s bantamweight battle between returning competitors Miesha Tate and Julia Avila is being planned for a yet-to-be-announced location and venue.

The ultimate fight fans can anticipate a turning point in UFC women’s bantamweight struggle with the spherical between former bantamweight champion, Miesha Tate, and her competitor, Julia Avila. They are both reportedly set to return to the scene in a match scheduled for the UFC event on Dec. 2. An official announcement stating the location and venue for this match is eagerly awaited. This brewing match was initially reported by ‘MMA Mania’.

Known as “Cupcake”, Miesha Tate is keen to make a comeback after a duo of consecutive decision losses she suffered to Ketlen Vieira and Lauren Murphy, — this brief tussle in the flyweight division took place at UFC Long Island in July 2022. Her return to the fighting circle came in July 2021 following a nearly five-year-long break. Her triumphant match against Marion Reneau, which ended with a third-round TKO win, marked her re-entry. The 36-year-old was scheduled for a match against Mayra Bueno Silva in July, however, she had to recuse herself due to an injury.

Concurrently, Julia Avila, fondly referred to as “Raging Panda” is also marking her return after a more than two-year-long hiatus from the ring. Personal and professional reasons accounted for her break; she was nursing a knee injury and also took some time off for the arrival of her firstborn. Avila’s accomplishments include a noteworthy 3-1 record in the UFC, accentuated by her third-round submission victory against Julija Stoliarenko during her latest venture at UFC Vegas 30 in June 2021.
