Yoel Romero Withdraws from BKFC KnuckleMania VI, Lorenzo Hunt’s New Opponent Announced

Yoel Romero withdrew from BKFC KnuckleMania VI due to the flu, leading to Dave Mundell stepping in to fight Lorenzo Hunt in a 199-pound catchweight bout.

BKFC KnuckleMania VI has hit a snag. Yoel Romero, a multi-time UFC title challenger, is out of his fight against Lorenzo Hunt.

BKFC officials broke the news on Tuesday. Romero, sidelined by the flu, had to withdraw from the card. Bummer, right?

With Romero out, Dave Mundell steps in. He’ll face Hunt in a 199-pound catchweight bout on Feb. 7. Not a title fight, but still a big deal.

The event’s set for the Xfinity Mobile Arena in Philly. Catch it live on DAZN.

Romero must be disappointed. He was gearing up for his second BKFC appearance after a knockout debut.

Recently, he returned to wrestling, dominating Pat Downey in Real American Freestyle. But now, he’ll have to wait for his next BKFC bout.

Meanwhile, Mundell moves up in weight to face Hunt. Both are seasoned bare-knuckle fighters.

Mundell boasts a 10-1 record. His only loss was a decision back in 2020. Since then, he’s on an eight-fight winning streak.

Hunt vs. Mundell is now the co-main event. The main event features heavyweight champ Ben Rothwell defending against Andrei Arlovski.

Exciting stuff, right? Can’t wait to see how it all unfolds!
