UFC fights that need to happen after UFC Vegas 28

With UFC Vegas 28 in the books, many UFC fighting fans will be looking ahead to a number of fights that they want to see take place.

Let’s not forget what happened at UFC Vegas 28 first, though, as the event was one that proved to provide some truly entertaining action and one that could be deemed a success as the combat sport finally made its return to the Apex facility after a period away.

Those that witnessed the event will have been delighted with the action that they saw in the contest between Jairzinho Rozenstruik and Augusto Sakai in the headline event. The Surinamese fighter, Rozenstruik, managed to inflict a brutal knockout blow on Brazilian Sakai in the final seconds of the opening round as he returned to winning ways in the Octagon.

Indeed, the win will have elevated his career and will have provided him with the opportunity to go on and fight for some of the bigger rewards that the UFC has to offer, although that will likely depend on who is available to fight.

Here are just some of the fights that could potentially take place following the aftermath of UFC Vegas 28:

Jairzinho Rozenstruik vs Alexander Volkov

Alexander Volkov may already be involved in a contest with Ciryl Gane later this month that has already attracted plenty of appeal all around the world, with sports bettors having been getting on the best UFC fight bets available whilst fans of the sport eagerly await what might happen. However, whether he wins this fight or not, Volkov might just be the next logical opponent for Rozenstruik.

Volkov has continued to emerge as a true heavyweight contender and has continued to build himself a list of impressive wins in the UFC since his debut, whilst Rozenstruik is looking to re-establish himself within the top five fighters in the division.

The roadmap is clear as both fighters are going to have to simply cross paths at one point, so it makes sense for it to happen as soon as they can, especially as Volkov is unlikely to get a chance to challenge for the heavyweight belt this year.

Jairzinho Rozenstruik vs Marcin Tybura

If Rozenstruik vs Volkov does not happen, the other fight he could have following his win at UFC Vegas 28 is to fight another competitor who managed to achieve a win on the night, as well.

Marcin Tybura put in a performance that caught many eyes with viewers, as his destructive display left Walt Harris having to suffer a TKO defeat in the first round, despite putting the Polish fighter under an onslaught of attacks early on.

The win meant Tybura extended his streak to five and the 35-year-old continues to rise up in the rankings. A matchup against Rozenstruik, arguably, makes sense across numerous factors and one that really needs to happen soon.

Miguel Baeza vs Alex Morono

One fight that truly stole the headlines at UFC Vegas 28 was the contest that was fought between Miguel Baeza and Santiago Ponzinibbio. Despite losing a narrow fight that has already been described as a ‘Fight of the Year’ contender, there will be many that are excited to see Baeza back in the Octagon as soon as possible.

Alex Morono could be the perfect opponent for the 28-year-old that is full of potential, as the two would likely be able to put on some of the most entertaining UFC action possible. Morono has recently come off the fight of his life, as well, as he defeated former UFC champion Donald Cerrone at UFC Vegas 26 with less than a week’s preparation with a win coming in the first round.
