Alex Pereira Shares Video of Broken Toe Before UFC 300

Alex Pereira defended his light heavyweight title at UFC 300 despite having broken his toe during a training session two weeks prior to the event.

Alex Pereira? Man, he’s tough as nails.

Just this past weekend, Pereira defended his light heavyweight title. He knocked out Jamahal Hill in the first round at UFC 300. Dana White, the UFC CEO, spilled the beans post-fight. Pereira had a broken toe weeks before the event. He still fought, though. On Tuesday, Pereira gave us a glimpse of what went down.

He posted a video on Instagram. It was from a training session two weeks before UFC 300. He broke his right pinky toe then. The video shows how his team tried to fix it right after the mishap.

“Broke my toe. … Push it. Push. … Check if it’s back. … Twist it a bit. … Like this. Out. Out. Forward.”

In the clip, you can see Pereira realizing the break after a kick. His team tries to push the toe back in place. No luck, though. As they work on his foot, Pereira just sits there, bummed about the accident.

“Damn, man. Last round,” Pereira muttered. “I was doing so well.”

But hey, the broken toe didn’t slow Pereira down. He still managed to knock out Hill in just over three minutes. Impressive, right?
