Calvin Kattar and Jeremy Stephens have been retargeted to meet at UFC 249. Multiple sources confirmed the rumors to MMAFighting.com. As of now, everything is verbal and no contract agreements have been signed.

The two were set to square of at UFC 248 in March headlined by Israel Adesanya vs Yoel Romero however an injury to Jeremy Stephens forced him to pull out of the fight. The two men will feature on the Khabib Nurmagomedov vs Tony Ferguson card which has some exciting fights scheduled.

Calvin Kattar (20-4, 4-2 UFC record) is looking to bounce back from a unanimous decision loss to Zabit Magomedsharipov in November of 2019. Kattar who is known for his crisp boxing has finished 3 of his last 6 fights via TKO. His two most recent wins were over Chris Fishgold and Richardo Lamas.

Veteran Jeremy Stephens will be looking to get back into the win column for the 1st time since 2018. Stephens (46-17, 16-16-1 in the UFC) will be coming into the fight with much more experience then Kattar, however, he remains winless in his last 4 bouts. His last fight against Yair Rodriguez was surrounded by animosity as an eye poke in September bout led the fight to be rescheduled a few weeks later.  Rodriguez ended up winning via unanimous decision.
