Chris Curtis Replaces Marvin Vettori, Set to Fight Brendan Allen at UFC Vegas 90

Chris Curtis is stepping in to replace Marvin Vettori in the main event bout against Brendan Allen at UFC Vegas 90 on April 6.

Chris Curtis to the rescue, yet again.

Marvin Vettori’s sudden exit from his scheduled main event against Brendan Allen at UFC Vegas 90 on April 6 left the UFC scrambling for a replacement. And who steps in? None other than the 14th ranked UFC middleweight, Chris Curtis, as per UFC’s announcement.

This isn’t some hearsay. Multiple insiders have confirmed this to MMA Fighting.

Deja vu, anyone? This ain’t Curtis’s first rodeo stepping in last minute to face Allen. Remember UFC Vegas 44? Curtis filled in for Roman Dolidze against Allen and walked away with a second-round TKO. His journey since then? A bit of a rollercoaster. Three victories, a pair of losses, and a no-contest. His last fight? A nail-biting split decision win over Marc-Andre Barriault at UFC 297.

Allen, on the other hand, has been on fire since his loss to Curtis. The 28-year-old has racked up six consecutive wins in the UFC’s middleweight division, with five of them coming via rear-naked choke. His latest conquest? A submission victory over Paul Craig in the main event of UFC Vegas 82.
