Conor McGregor Eager to Return to Work Following Road House Promo Tour, Two Fights Left on Contract

Conor McGregor, who has been promoting his role in the upcoming “Road House” reboot, has expressed his eagerness to return to his UFC career once his film obligations are completed.

Conor McGregor’s been having a blast, playing the villain in the upcoming Hollywood reboot of “Road House”. But, he’s itching to get back to his day job – the UFC.

He’s been on the promo trail for the past few weeks. Rubbing shoulders with his co-stars at events like South by Southwest in Texas. Even made it to the London premiere.

Next up? New York. Then, “Road House” hits Prime Video on March 21.

Once the film stuff’s done, Conor’s all about the UFC. He’s keen to get back in the octagon sooner rather than later.

“I’m looking forward to getting back and regressing, resetting and recalibrating and remapping my return to the octagon,” he said at a “Road House” press conference. He’s raring to go. We’re only in the first quarter of 2024. Plenty of time left.

He’s got two fights left on his contract. Negotiations are ongoing. Once the movie promo and St. Patrick’s day festivities are over, it’s all about focus. Isolation. Prepping for his UFC return.

Even while promoting “Road House”, questions about his next fight keep cropping up. Sadly, he’s got no answers.

He’s been saying he wants to return at the UFC 303 card on June 29 for International Fight Week 2024. But that’s looking unlikely. UFC CEO Dana White’s hopeful for a fall return, but no updates on a date for his expected fight against Michael Chandler.

White often cites McGregor’s extreme wealth as a reason for his delayed return. But McGregor doesn’t see that as a barrier. His “Road House” duties likely kept him from the UFC 300 card on April 13. But he seems ready to fight.

As for another acting gig? He’s not ruling it out, but he’s not rushing back to a movie set.

“Right now, not at this time,” he said. “I’m going to regroup after all this work, I’ll leave it to the professionals. It’s hard work. It was very hard work.”

Maybe next year or something, he says. He won’t say never because he had a great time and made some lifelong friends. He even enjoyed working with Amazon. Who knows what the future holds in the industry?
