Conor McGregor Shares Training Footage Amid UFC 303 Rumors

Conor McGregor is preparing for his comeback fight against Michael Chandler at UFC 303 on June 29, despite recent doubts and a cancelled press conference, sharing training clips and appearing in good health on social media.

Conor McGregor wants the world to know he’s ready for his comeback.

Understandably, doubts have been raised over McGregor’s preparation for the June 29 UFC 303 event. This event marks “The Notorious” return from a near-three-year hiatus to take on Michael Chandler in a headlining welterweight bout. McGregor recently canceled a press conference in Dublin, Ireland. Now, some are wondering if the fight will even take place as scheduled.

Neither McGregor nor the UFC have officially said why the Dublin stop was canceled. But the two-division champion has continued to post on social media in the aftermath. He shared a series of training clips on Instagram.

In the footage, McGregor shows off a number of techniques. His signature striking style is on display, as well as his takedown defense. The latter could be crucial if the wrestling-adept Chandler decides to put McGregor on his back.

It should be noted that it is not known when these clips were filmed. So, it’s unclear whether this is an encouraging sign for the June 29 date.

McGregor also recently shared an image of himself grinning and appearing to be in good health. He declined to provide a caption or commentary.

Should McGregor make the walk to the octagon at UFC 303, it will mark his first fight since July 2021. In his most recent bout, McGregor broke his leg in the first round of a trilogy bout against rival Dustin Poirier. He has spent much of the past three years recovering from injury.

Does McGregor’s online activity make you more optimistic that the Chandler fight will proceed as scheduled? Let us know in the comments below.
