Dana White Hints at Conor McGregor’s UFC Comeback

UFC CEO Dana White has hinted at a major announcement regarding the return of Conor McGregor, the promotion’s biggest star, possibly in the fall to face Michael Chandler.

We’re just a smidge over a week away from a UFC event that’s set to make history. Dana White, the big boss of UFC, is hinting at a significant announcement. It’s about the promotion’s biggest star, no less.

Early on Friday, White shared a video on his Instagram story. It showed Conor McGregor strutting into a building, ahead of a UFC event. The caption read, “Coming soon…”. Could it be a hint at the return of the former two-division champion?

McGregor dropped a bombshell just before 2023 ended. He announced he’d be facing Michael Chandler, his fellow coach from Ultimate Fighter 31, on June 29. That’s UFC 303, the main event of the promotion’s annual International Fight Week. But White didn’t confirm anything in later interviews. He even hinted that he’s hoping for McGregor’s return in the fall to face Chandler.

McGregor, known as “The Notorious”, recently dropped a hint on The MMA Hour. He said a return this summer is imminent, but didn’t spill any more beans. If McGregor does return this summer, it’ll be his first appearance since a nasty leg injury. He suffered it in a TKO loss to Dustin Poirier at UFC 264 in July 2021. Ouch, right?

So, what’s the deal? Is McGregor coming back this summer? Or is White just stirring the pot? Guess we’ll have to wait and see.
