Dana White Stunned by Unprecedented Crowd Fight at UFC Mexico City

A brawl broke out among spectators at UFC Mexico City, with the fight continuing until one person was knocked out, and no security intervention, leaving UFC CEO Dana White shocked and stating it was one of the craziest things he had ever seen.

UFC Mexico City wrapped up, but not without a bang. And no, we’re not talking about a knockout in the ring.

Instead, a wild brawl erupted in the crowd. A real crowd-pleaser, if you ask me.

Now, fights breaking out during sports events? Not exactly a novelty. But this one? This one was different.

It was UFC’s comeback to Mexico on Saturday. And boy, did it make a mark. A fight broke out among several spectators, resulting in a spectacle Dana White won’t be forgetting anytime soon.

One guy got completely wrecked by a punch. And security? Nowhere in sight.

Dana White, the UFC CEO, had a thing or two to say about it. He spoke up during the post-fight press conference on Saturday.

“I mean, that never happens,” White said. “Literally never happens. But here? In Mexico City? It did.”

He continued, “The crazy thing about that fight, it just kept going. And going. And going. No one stopped it. I was waiting for security to step in. But nope, they let it roll until it was over.”

“That was one of the craziest things I’ve ever seen,” White added. “I don’t think it’s a bad look for the UFC. It happened, and that was that.”

The brawl was so distracting that Manuel Torres, a UFC lightweight, had to pause his post-fight celebration in the cage. He tried to calm the crowd down as chaos ensued following his stunning first-round finish.

Even Sean Strickland, a former UFC middleweight champion, didn’t get to throw punches for that long. He had launched himself across several rows of seats to go after Dricus du Plessis during a memorable brawl at UFC 296 last year.

White wasn’t necessarily upset about everything that happened. But the lack of reaction from the security team? That took him by surprise.

If there was a silver lining, White believes it was the sight of the fan getting knocked out cold. That probably stopped anyone else from starting trouble for the rest of the night.

“I think after everybody else saw that s***, nobody else wanted to try that again,” White said. “No security! The fight just went on until it was over. I’ve never seen any s*** like that in my life. Crazy.”
