The full lineups for week 1 and week 3 of Dana White’s Contender Series season 7 have been announced, with a change to the first opening bout, now featuring Kevin Borjas against Victor Dias substitute for Rickson Zenidim.
The lineups for week 1 and week 3 of Dana White’s Contender Series, season 7 have been announced. There has been a minor adjustment to the inaugural event which is set to occur on August 8. Over recent years, The Contender Series has proved to be a great platform for many aspiring UFC fighters. New fighters are added to the roster almost every episode. Former UFC light heavyweight champion, Jamahal Hill, as well as Sean O’Malley, both began their careers on The Contender Series. O’Malley is currently preparing for his up-and-coming bantamweight title fight at UFC 292 held in Boston.
The preliminary week witnessed a slight modification in the opening match. Kevin Borjas is now expected to go up against Victor Dias, even though he was initially paired up with Rickson Zenidim. The full lineup for the first week of The Contender Series has also been revealed, promising exciting fights starting 7 p.m. ET on ESPN+. The lineup includes the Middleweight fight between Cesar Almeida and Lucas Fernando, the Lightweight clash featuring Tom Nolan and Bogdan Grad, and the Heavyweight title between Kevin Szaflarski and Caio Machado. The Bantamweight and Flyweight matches feature Payton Talbott versus Junior Cortez and Victor Dias against Kevin Borjas respectively.
The lineup for The Contender Series’ week 3 was disclosed during UFC 291‘s broadcast, with the event scheduled to happen on August 22. Similar to the first week event, the third week will also be broadcast at 8 p.m. ET on ESPN+. Battles worth watching out for are Middleweight fight between Eli Aronov and Zach Reese, Welterweight fight between Kaik Brito and Oban Elliott, Women’s Strawweight fight featuring Isis Verbeek vs. Josefine Knutsson, and the Featherweight match between Luis Paluelo and Robbie King. The Flyweight match brings together Felipe Dos Santos and Luciano Pereira.
