Ex-UFC Heavyweight Robelis Despaigne’s Historic 4-Second Knockout at Karate Combat 51

Robelis Despaigne made a record-breaking debut in Karate Combat by achieving the fastest knockout in promotional history, finishing Dominik Jedrzejczyk in just four seconds after being released from the UFC earlier this year.

Robelis Despaigne might’ve just found his groove.

The seasoned UFC fighter stepped into the Karate Combat ring for the first time on Thursday. After parting ways with the UFC earlier this year, Despaigne faced off against the towering 6’10” Dominik Jedrzejczyk in Miami. And guess what? He only needed four seconds—yep, you read that right—to knock out Jedrzejczyk, setting a new record for the fastest knockout in Karate Combat history.

Despaigne’s journey to this point has been wild. He burst onto the scene with four pro wins in just over five minutes total. That earned him a spot at UFC 299 back in March. Nicknamed “The Big Boy,” he didn’t disappoint, taking out Josh Parisian in a swift 18 seconds at the Miami pay-per-view event. But, alas, his UFC stint was short-lived. He lost his next two fights to Waldo Cortes-Acosta and Austen Lane, who both leaned heavily on grappling to secure decision wins.

In November, Despaigne officially inked a deal with Karate Combat and wasted no time making an impact.
