Fighters Respond to Alex Peireira’s Knockout of Jamahal Hill at UFC 300: Arrogance not Confidence

Alex Pereira solidified his position as the UFC light heavyweight champion after defeating former champion Jamahal Hill in the first round of UFC 300‘s main event.

No one can argue it. Alex Pereira is the UFC light heavyweight champ. He claimed this title after a first-round thrashing of the former champ, Jamahal Hill. This was the main event of UFC 300.

In the first round, Pereira coolly dismissed a cup kick stop from referee Herb Dean. He then let loose his signature left hook. Hill hit the canvas hard.

A few hammerfists later, Hill was out cold. This happened at 3:14 of the first round.

So, what’s the word on the street about Alex Pereira vs. Jamahal Hill? This was the main event of UFC 300, after all.

Damien Brown (@beatdown155) had this to say on Twitter: “The lead up to this fight was not confidence for Hill but arrogance. He will learn from this and be better. The idea this was a mismatch was a mistake for him to think. #UFC300”

“Wonderboy” Thompson (@WonderboyMMA) chimed in with: “The touch of death! Alex was setting that left hook up right from the start. Jab after Jab to the body then unleashed to the dome. Insane! Alex is incredible #UFC300”

Daniel Cormier (@dc_mma) added: “This guy man! Unbelievable what Alex Perreira has done! UFC 300 absolutely delivered! #UFC300”

Diana Belbiță (@DianaBelbita) was thrilled: “Hell Yeah!!! I can go to sleep happy tonight. Congrats Alex Pereira!!!! #UFC300”

Kenny Florian (@kennyflorian) was impressed: “Waves off cup kick, proceeds to use murderous left-hand. Alex Pereira ladies and gentlemen. Absolute savage. #UFC300”

And Damien Brown (@beatdown155) again: “Terrifying left hook. Could’ve easily got a walk off KO #UFC300”

That’s the word from the Twitterverse.
