Henry Cejudo Teases Chase For Record 3rd UFC Title

UFC

Triple “C”, may soon be wanting to chase the 4th piece of gold. Henry Cejudo has teased that he will be moving up to the 145lb featherweight division to chase a 3rd UFC title.

There has been wide speculation that Cejudo will be fighting Jose Aldo at UFC 250 taking place in May in Brazil.

” All roads are leading to Jose Aldo who is another legend. I think to me when you’re able to add Demetrious Johnson. TJ Dillashaw and Jose Aldo you are covering everyone from flyweight to featherweight. He’s going to be the next to bend the knee to “Triple C”.

Aldo is coming off a controversial loss to Marlon Moraes but Cejudo remains adamant that he needs Jose Aldo to add to his legacy.

“The numbers need to add up. The fight can happen.”

Cejudo also threw in an interesting opponent to face after a potential Aldo fight.

“A lot of people will probably laugh but it’s ok. It’s Alexander Volkanovski. I do feel like I have a style that can beat him. I sincerely do. I have my wrestling, I have myĀ  hands, we are almost the same height.”

Cejudo gained the “Triple C” nickname due to him holding 3 pieces of gold medal throughout his combat career. He holds an Olympic gold medal, and also was the flyweight champion and the current bantamweight champion in the UFC.

Volkanovski is currently recovering from a broken hand he suffered against Max Holloway en route to securing the featherweight title. His return is unannounced but the UFC may look to book an immediate rematch between Holloway and Volkanovki.

No athlete has held 3 belts in MMA history. Cejudo can very well be the 1st man to have won 3 titles in the UFC. If that is the case, Cejudo’s new nickname will be “Quadruple C.”
