Ikram Aliskerov Withdraws, Anthony Hernandez to Face Roman Kopylov at UFC 298

Anthony Hernandez will now face Roman Kopylov at UFC 298, after Kopylov replaced Ikram Aliskerov in the middleweight bout.

So, here’s the scoop. Anthony Hernandez? He’s got a new rival for UFC 298.

Got some insider info here. A bunch of folks in the know have spilled the beans to MMA Fighting. Hernandez is set to square off against Roman Kopylov in the next UFC pay-per-view event. It’s all happening Feb. 17, folks, at the Honda Center, Anaheim, Calif.

Here’s the kicker. Kopylov is stepping in for Ikram Aliskerov in this middleweight bout. Aliskerov’s exit from the scheduled match was announced during the UFC 297 broadcast last Saturday.

Remember when Hernandez and Kopylov were supposed to duke it out at Noche UFC in September? Well, that didn’t happen. Hernandez had to pull out because of an injury. But he’s back now, and on a roll. “Fluffy” is riding a four-fight win streak, including knockout wins against Edmen Shahbazyan, Marc-Andre Barriault, and Rodolfo Vieira.

And Kopylov? He’s been on fire too. He’s taken down his last four opponents, one of them being Hernandez’s replacement at the Noche UFC card, Josh Fremd.

The main event at UFC 298? That’s gonna be Alexander Volkanovski vs. Ilia Topuria, battling it out for the featherweight title.
