Jake Paul Favored to Defeat Mike Tyson in July 20 Boxing Match

DraftKings Sportsbook has set Jake Paul as the favorite to win in the upcoming boxing match against Mike Tyson, with a 78% chance of victory, while Tyson has a 25% chance of winning.

Jake Paul and Mike Tyson in the ring? Seems like a no-brainer for the betting folks.

DraftKings Sportsbook has dished out the initial odds for this Paul-Tyson showdown. The announcement came this past Thursday. The fight’s scheduled for July 20, taking place in the AT&T Stadium, Arlington, Texas. And guess what? It’ll be streamed live on Netflix.

No shocker here, but young Paul’s the big favorite to knock Tyson out. His opening odds? A cool -360. They’ve dubbed him “The Problem Child.”

So, what’s that mean? Well, if you bet $100 on Paul, you’d get back $127.78. The implied odds? They’re giving Paul a 78% shot at beating the heavyweight boxing legend.

Tyson, though? He’s the underdog at +300. He’s a former world champ and one of the most feared knockout artists in combat sports history. Bet $100 on Tyson, and you could win $400. The implied odds give “Iron Mike” a mere 25% chance of victory.

Details about the fight are still under wraps. Likely an exhibition, considering Tyson’s turning 58 in June and hasn’t had a sanctioned pro bout since June 2005. Last time we saw him in the ring? He was boxing Roy Jones Jr. in an eight-round exhibition bout in November 2020. The result? A split draw.

If Paul vs. Tyson ends up being an exhibition bout, we don’t know if there’ll be a decision if the fight goes the distance. Remember when Paul’s older brother Logan boxed the undefeated Floyd Mayweather in an exhibition bout in June 2021? No winner was declared at the end of the eight-round contest.

Jake Paul, 27, is fresh off back-to-back first-round knockouts of Ryan Bourland and Andre August. Those guys were a change of pace for Paul. He’s got a 9-1 record as a pro boxer, mostly fighting former UFC stars like Nate Diaz, Anderson Silva, and Tyron Woodley. His only defeat? British reality TV star Tommy Fury.

Here’s a look at the Paul vs. Tyson odds, straight from DraftKings Sportsbook: Jake Paul: -360. Mike Tyson: +300.
