Jamahal Hill Arrested & Charged with Domestic Violence Against Brother: Report

Former UFC light heavyweight champion Jamahal Hill has been charged with misdemeanor domestic violence for allegedly assaulting his brother, James Anthony Hill Jr.

Well, here’s a bit of news. Jamahal Hill, the ex-UFC light heavyweight champ, is facing a misdemeanor domestic violence charge. Apparently, he’s accused of assaulting his brother, or so says a report from TMZ.

Now, this all went down in Kent County, Michigan. Hill was booked into the local jail early Monday, but he didn’t stay long. He was out the same day.

The state prosecutors didn’t mess around. They charged him with a single count of misdemeanor aggravated domestic violence. The victim? James Anthony Hill Jr. The charge? Inflicting “serious or aggravated injury.”

Who’s James Anthony Hill Jr., you ask? Well, he’s “a resident or former resident” of the ex-champ’s household. But, let’s cut to the chase. Other sources confirmed he’s Hill’s brother.

Kent County’s public information officer didn’t hold back either. They released Hill’s mugshot to MMA Fighting. Another officer released a police report for a freedom of information request. That’s still pending, by the way.

Hill’s got a court date in January. He’ll be answering for these charges. His rep, a guy named Brian Butler from Suckerpunch Entertainment, didn’t have much to say. He declined to comment on the charge to MMA Fighting.

Hill’s been in the news before. Just last month, he and his team got caught up in a protest in New York City. He was trapped in a van coming from a UFC 295 event. But don’t worry, police and UFC security got him out safely.

He’s also been vocal in defending Dana White, the UFC CEO. White was caught on camera slapping his wife after she slapped him at a nightclub. Hill even threatened to get physical with journalist Ariel Helwani over an interview with Jiri Prochazka. But that’s a whole other story.
