Johnny Walker Promises Improved Return After UFC Vegas 84 Defeat, Wishes Magomed Ankalaev Title Victory

After losing to Magomed Ankalaev in UFC Vegas 84, Johnny Walker expressed his hope for Ankalaev to win the UFC light heavyweight title next.

Johnny Walker’s got his eyes on a prize. But it’s not his. He’s rooting for his rival to bag the UFC light heavyweight title.

Who’s the rival? Magomed Ankalaev. Walker lost to him in a rematch at UFC Vegas 84. It was a knockout in the second round.

Walker’s take on the loss? He’s cool with it. He shared his thoughts on social media, saying, “It is what it is.” He knows he’s one of the best. He’s ready to face the best.

He’s got a sportsman spirit, that’s for sure. He congratulated Ankalaev and now hopes he gets the belt.

The current 205-pound champ is Alex Pereira, Walker’s fellow Brazilian. Ankalaev’s got his eyes on that title. He made that clear after his bout with Walker at the UFC APEX.

Walker’s not letting the defeat get to him. He’s feeling good, save for a “little scratch on my nose.” He’s planning to watch the bout again, see where he went wrong, and fix those mistakes.

He’s got a plan. He’s going to “keep grinding, keep going forward and keep going upward.” He thanked everyone for their support. He’s taking a few days off, then it’s back to the gym.

This defeat has affected Walker’s record. His octagon record is now 7-5 with one no-contest. It ended his three-fight winning streak over Ion Cutelaba, Paul Craig, and Anthony Smith. But he’s not letting it get him down. He’s coming back better.
