Lerone Murphy Out: Dan Ige to Face Andre Fili at UFC Vegas 86

Dan Ige will now face Andre Fili at UFC Vegas 86, replacing Lerone Murphy who had to withdraw due to an undisclosed injury.

Well, Dan Ige’s got a fresh face to square off against in his upcoming UFC match.

Who’s the new guy, you ask? It’s Andre Fili.

This juicy tidbit comes straight from the horse’s mouth, or rather, multiple insiders close to UFC’s planning team. They spilled the beans to MMA Fighting. MMA Junkie was the first to break the news about this new pairing for UFC Vegas 86.

This event’s happening on February 10, right at the UFC APEX in Las Vegas.

Fili’s stepping in for Lerone Murphy. Poor Murphy had to back out of the featherweight bout. Why? Well, he’s nursing some undisclosed injury.

This piece of info was first dropped by Violent Money TV.

Ige’s no newbie to the octagon. This’ll be his 16th time stepping into the ring. He’s hoping to bounce back from a decision loss he suffered against Bryce Mitchell. That was at UFC Vegas 79 last September.

Before that, Ige, also known as “50K”, broke a losing streak of three fights. He did this by bagging consecutive wins over Damon Jackson and Nate Landwehr.

Fili? He’s fresh off a stunning performance against Lucas Almeida. That was at UFC 296 in December. He finished Almeida off with a TKO in the first round.

UFC Vegas 86’s main event? A middleweight bout featuring Jack Hermansson and Joe Pyfer.

Oh, and let’s not forget to give credit where it’s due. Damon Martin had a hand in this report.
