ADXC 6’s main event in Abu Dhabi has been changed to a grappling match between UFC veterans Muhammad Mokaev and Rogerio Bontorin after several adjustments, with Bontorin stepping in as a short-notice replacement.
ADXC 6 has had to shuffle its main event lineup yet again in Abu Dhabi. This time, it’s a grappling showdown featuring UFC veterans Muhammad Mokaev and Rogerio Bontorin set for Friday. Bontorin’s manager broke the news on Monday.
Initially, the card was headlined by Umar Nurmagomedov vs. Eduardo Dantas. Then it switched to Raul Rosas Jr. vs. Muhammad Mokaev. Now, due to some “unforeseen circumstances,” Bontorin steps in as a last-minute replacement. Rosas Jr. mentioned on social media that “UFC wants me to focus on MMA for now.”
Mokaev is still unbeaten after an impressive streak of 36 MMA contests. He went 23-0 as an amateur before going pro in 2020. In the UFC, he won all seven of his fights, taking down opponents like Manel Kape and Alex Perez. Despite this, he wasn’t re-signed by the promotion.
Bontorin’s UFC journey saw him fight six times between 2019 and 2022, following his stint on Dana White’s Contender Series. He claimed victories over Magomed Bibulatov and Raulian Paiva but then hit a rough patch with four consecutive losses to Ray Borg, Kai Kara-France, and Brandon Royval. His last MMA bout was inside the RIZIN cage in 2023, and he’s known for securing 11 of his 17 wins via submission.
