Nate Diaz Named in Rodney Petersen Lawsuit Over New Orleans Street Brawl, Representative Responds

Logan Paul lookalike Rodney Petersen has filed a lawsuit against Nate Diaz for his role in a viral street fight in New Orleans in April 2023, alleging severe bodily injuries and other damages.

Nate Diaz, MMA fighter, is in hot water. A lawsuit’s been slapped on him by Rodney Petersen, a Logan Paul doppelganger. The reason? A street fight that went viral, happened in New Orleans, April 2023.

Petersen, or “Not Logan Paul” as he’s known, filed the suit just last week. It went down in Louisiana’s civil district court. The allegations? Serious bodily harm, including head, neck, and brain injuries. Emotional distress, medical bills, lost income, and more.

And there’s more. Bobbie, Petersen’s wife, is also part of the suit. She’s claiming damages for loss of consortium, services, support, and affection.

MMA Fighting confirmed all this on Friday. They were following up on a report by a Louisiana FOX affiliate.

Let’s rewind to the night of April 21, 2023. A video went viral. It showed Diaz locking Petersen in a standing guillotine during a Bourbon Street brawl. A knee to the body, then Petersen was dumped on the ground, seemingly unconscious. Petersen claims he got a serious concussion and eight staples in his head from the fight.

Diaz? He turned himself into the New Orleans police after the incident. But the prosecutors decided not to press charges.

Keith D. Lampkin, Chief of Operations & External Affairs of the Orleans Parish District Attorney’s Office, made a statement in September. “The 2nd degree battery charge against Mr. Nathan Diaz was refused,” he said. “After reviewing all available evidence, including video and testimony, there is not sufficient support to prove the alleged crime.”

Diaz’s team has been firm since the incident. They insist the UFC legend acted in self-defense.

Zach Rosenfield, Diaz’s representative, had a short and sweet response to Petersen’s new lawsuit. He told MMA Fighting’s Damon Martin on Friday: “LOL.”
