Nate Landwehr Calls Out Movsar Evloev: Ready to Challenge the Unbeaten Fighter

Nate Landwehr is eyeing a spot in the UFC’s top 15 after his third consecutive win and seeks a rematch against Movsar Evloev, with whom he has history.

Nate Landwehr is set to break into the UFC’s top 15 after winning three consecutive matches and earning three straight fight night bonuses. This past weekend, Landwehr was scheduled to face Alex Caceres at UFC San Antonio, but Caceres had to withdraw for undisclosed reasons. Instead, Landwehr submitted Austin Lingo in the second round, marking Landwehr’s path towards a spot among the featherweight elite. Landwehr expressed his happiness about the match’s outcome and his lack of injury during the bout, as well as his excitement for the next opportunity to showcase his skills.

The UFC featherweight division is a thrilling and deep competition, with young contenders quickly rising through the top 15 ranks. Landwehr has his sights set on several fighters for his next match, however one opponent he particularly covets is Movsar Evloev, currently ranked No. 10 within the MMA Fighting Global Rankings. Landwehr also considers Dan Ige and Billy Quarantillo as potential opponents, as their cardio and in-ring performance would make for an instant classic, creating a formidable matchup for the fans.

With a history between them, the fight against Evloev is particularly appealing for Landwehr who had previously defeated Khamzat Dalgiev and taken the title. Evloev, undefeated at 16-0 and formerly an M-1 bantamweight champion, is considered the dark horse of the featherweight division. They were supposed to meet in UFC Vegas 16 back in 2020, but Evloev caught COVID and the fight was cancelled. As he strives for the top 15 spot, Landwehr understands he can’t afford to wait around, saying “I’m already 34. I can’t wait around and let it pass me, you know what I mean? UFC is giving me every shot I could get… but I just gotta take it.”
