This fight marks Adesanya’s first title defense after reclaiming the middleweight title from his rival, Alex Pereira, in April. The poster for the September 10 event appeared recently, showcasing the tension between Adesanya and Strickland.
Adesanya’s record in UFC has been impressive, with successful defenses of the middleweight title five times in a row during his first reign. His next opponent is Strickland, who despite a few tough losses after moving to 185 pounds, has garnered a respectable 7-2 record in the division. Strickland has his sights set on his first UFC title, entering the bout on the back of a two-fight win streak.
