PFL Signs Multi-Year Extension with ESPN

The Professional Fighters League (PFL) has announced a multi-year renewal with ESPN, which will continue to broadcast its regular season, playoffs, and championship events, and will exclusively host the PFL’s upcoming pay-per-view Super Fight Division events.

The Professional Fighters League (PFL) isn’t going anywhere, folks. They’re sticking with ESPN for a good while yet.

This news came straight from the horse’s mouth. The PFL spilled the beans in a chat with The Hollywood Reporter. They’ve signed on the dotted line for a multi-year renewal with ESPN, their latest broadcast buddy.

They’ve just wrapped up their 2023 season, and it was a doozy. The PFL World Championship was the cherry on top. Oh, and did I mention they’ve snapped up Bellator? Yeah, that happened too.

PFL CEO Peter Murray is buzzing. He told THR, “We’re really excited about the next chapter, obviously ESPN is a key destination for MMA”. He’s not just thinking about the PFL, though. He’s got his eye on the bigger picture, aiming to grow the sport in the U.S. and reel in both hardcore MMA fans and stick and ball fans.

And it’s not just talk. They’re gearing up for a successful launch of their pay-per-view business. So, watch this space.

The new deal’s got some interesting details. All the PFL’s regular season, playoffs, and championship events are staying put on the ESPN platform. That includes both lineal and on ESPN+.

But here’s the kicker. ESPN+ PPV is set to be the exclusive home for their soon-to-be-launched PFL PPV Super Fight Division events. We’re talking big names here, like Francis Ngannou and Jake Paul. So, buckle up, it’s gonna be a wild ride.
