On the eve of UFC 300, the MMA Fighting team is reflecting on the two previous centennial events, UFC 100 and UFC 200, which marked major eras in UFC history.

Wowza! Our series, “DAMN! They Were Good,” usually applauds the careers of our fave MMA fighters. But, on the brink of UFC 300, we’re doing something different. The MMA Fighting team is hitting pause on reminiscing about individual fighters. Instead, we’re throwing it back to the two previous centennial events.

UFC 100 and UFC 200, remember those? They happened on July 11, 2009, and July 9, 2016, respectively. These two events were pivotal, marking significant eras in UFC history.

UFC 100, with Brock Lesnar vs. Frank Mir 2 as the main event, was a biggie. It was the UFC’s peak attempt to become a mainstream sport. Then there was UFC 200, headlined by Miesha Tate vs. Amanda Nunes. This one was the last hurrah of the Zuffa era. Endeavor snapped up the UFC just days after.

So, what were the top moments and highlights from these two events? Well, the MMA Fighting team has some thoughts. We’re reminiscing about two of the most game-changing events in UFC history.
