RIZIN Fighting Federation has changed the names and dates of its upcoming events, with RIZIN 46 now called RIZIN Landmark 9 and taking place on April 29, and the following show renamed RIZIN 46.
Hey, there’s been a bit of a shake-up in the RIZIN Fighting Federation’s upcoming schedule. You know how it goes, right?
Originally, RIZIN 46 and 47 were set for March 23 and May 6. They were gonna happen in Kobe and Tokyo, respectively. But, things have changed a bit. The company’s not only switched up the event names but also their dates.
RIZIN 46? It’s now RIZIN Landmark 9. And the event that was supposed to follow? It’s now RIZIN 46, scheduled for April 29.
Remember Featherweight champ Chihiro Suzuki? He was all set to defend his title against veteran Masanori Kanehara in May. Now, he’ll be stepping into the ring a week earlier in April. The March event? It’s gonna see 155-pound champ Roberto Satoshi back in action against Keita Nakamura. But, no title on the line, folks.
Satoshi’s last fight? It was in July 2023. He stepped in for A.J. McKee on short notice to face Patricky Pitbull in the Bellator lightweight grand prix. He hasn’t defended his title since April 2022, when he made Johnny Case tap out with an armbar in less than four minutes. Since then, the Brazilian’s record is 1-2. Nakamura, a UFC veteran, made a comeback by defeating Kiichi Kunimoto in April 2023. It was his first match in nearly three years.
