Former UFC middleweight champion Sean Strickland got into a verbal altercation with musician Machine Gun Kelly at a Power Slap event in Las Vegas, insulting his outfit and later criticizing him on social media.
Sean Strickland can’t seem to catch a break. He’s always in the thick of it.
Just last weekend, he found himself in a verbal spat with Machine Gun Kelly. This happened at a Power Slap event in Vegas. The former UFC middleweight champ was there as a guest of Dana White, UFC CEO.
Machine Gun Kelly was there too. Strickland didn’t hold back, calling the musician “weird” and a “weirdo”. He also took a jab at his outfit.
As he left, Strickland shouted, “I don’t know who the f*** that guy is. I’m easy to find, vampire man.” He later went on a social media rant, dubbing the musician a “vampire”. He seemed surprised that Machine Gun Kelly, a 33-year-old from Ohio, was engaged to Megan Fox.
Dana White cleared Machine Gun Kelly of any potential wrongdoing. Instead, he said, “You can’t bring Sean Strickland around any other human beings.” Strickland confirmed this in a YouTube video. He admitted to insulting Machine Gun Kelly’s outfit when they were introduced.
Strickland said, “I go and I meet the vampire… I’m like, ‘Dude, what are you f****** wearing. Like, what the f*** is going on here? How are you doing this?’ He looked at me like I was less than human.”
The situation almost escalated. Strickland’s girlfriend intervened, pulling him away as tensions rose. The verbal spat didn’t turn physical.
Strickland later said, “I was like, ‘You know what? I’m going to f****** humble you right now.’ Then my girl got in the way and was like, ‘Chill the f*** out,’ and then I was escorted out.”
Strickland seems to have a problem with celebrities. He said, “These people, they’re not like me and you. They’ve got this weird god complex, and I had no idea who the vampire was. What the f***, you guys? What is going on here?”
Strickland’s main issue was with Machine Gun Kelly’s attire. He compared the musician to social influencers, a group he openly despises.
“You wake up everyday and you dress like a vampire,” Strickland said. “You look like the goth kid on South Park and you go out into the world like this. This only happens because you are in an insulated bubble.”
Strickland later found out who Machine Gun Kelly was. This only made him angrier.
Strickland said, “My world is being shattered. I watched Transformers just like all you f******. Can you picture the shock and awe when I find out that he is with Megan Fox of Transformers with a broken down vehicle? I still can’t wrap my head around it.”
Strickland had quite the week. He met with former president Donald Trump, sparred with a social influencer, and met a “vampire”.
“It’s been a hell of a 24 hours,” Strickland said. “Met [Donald] Trump, got to fight an influencer, met a vampire. Didn’t know they were real but apparently they are. I should have brought some garlic and a stake to that slap fight. I didn’t know I was in danger.”
