Shara Magomedov vs Michael Page at UFC Saudi Arabia Amid Health Struggle

Shara Magomedov experienced his first career loss to Michael Page at UFC Saudi Arabia, attributing his defeat to entering the fight with a significant health issue, but expressed gratitude for the opportunity and support.

Shara Magomedov faced his first career defeat at UFC Saudi Arabia against Michael Page. Interestingly, he mentioned he wasn’t in peak health during the fight.

“Bullet” lost via unanimous decision to Page, who had moved up from welterweight for this bout. The judges scored it with two 30-27s and a 29-28. Page’s speed and elusive movements seemed to puzzle Magomedov throughout.

Afterward, Magomedov, aged 30, shared his thoughts. “The pirate sails into the harbor, but I will return,” he declared.

He knew the risks of competing with a significant health issue but still believed he could win. Unfortunately, it didn’t pan out that way. “And that’s it,” he concluded.

Gratefulness shone through as he thanked the UFC and everyone involved for the opportunity. Despite his condition, he aimed to entertain without canceling the fight. He expressed gratitude to his supporters with a heartfelt “Alhamdulillah.”

However, Magomedov kept mum about specific health details before the fight. Before this loss, he’d secured decision victories over Michal Oleksiejczuk and Bruno Silva. Not to mention his knockout wins over Antonio Trocoli and Arman Petrosyan in one of 2024’s top knockouts at UFC 308 in October.

In the world of MMA, unpredictability is ever-present—just like life itself.
