Fresh from a WWE blockbuster, the 52-year-old superstar shared a video. It was Sunday. The video showed the first steps of his MMA training. He’s prepping to play Kerr in the upcoming biopic, The Smashing Machine.

Day 1. MMA training camp. The journey to become the “Smashing Machine” has begun.

Johnson is set to star in the upcoming film. It’s a story of the rise and fall of Kerr. Kerr, a two-time UFC heavyweight tournament winner. A Pride FC veteran.
The film is being produced by A24, an award-winning studio. Benny Safdie is directing. You might know him from Uncut Gems. Safdie also wrote the script. The film has been in the works for years. Johnson first announced it in late 2019, right before UFC 244.
Emily Blunt is also in the film. The Golden Globe Award winner is playing Dawn Staples, Kerr’s wife.
