Jon Jones, the UFC heavyweight champion, has made his comeback to The Big Apple. Jones is slated to defend his title against former two-time heavyweight champion Stipe Miocic in the main event of UFC 295. On Thursday, the UFC further escalated the excitement by dropping the official poster for its return to Madison Square Garden in New York City.

Jones, after a three-year hiatus from the sport, made quite the return at UFC 285. He moved up to the heavyweight category and claimed victory against Ciryl Gane for the vacant title. Meanwhile, Miocic has yet to make another appearance since he was defeated by Francis Ngannou at UFC 260, losing the heavyweight title in the rematch.

In addition, a second poster was released for the co-main event: a fight for the then-vacant light heavyweight title. This bout was between former light heavyweight champion Jiri Prochazka and former middleweight champion Alex Pereira. Prochazka triumphed at UFC 275 when he faced off against Pereira’s coach, Glover Teixeira, and won the light heavyweight title. Unfortunately, a shoulder injury interrupted Prochazka’s plans for the title defense, prompting him to vacate the belt. This led to Jamahal Hill winning the title but subsequently vacating it too, due to injury.

On the other hand, Pereira clinched the middleweight title at Madison Square Garden a year ago. However, he lost the belt in a rematch with Israel Adesanya in April but triumphed in a split decision over former champion Jan Blachowicz in his light heavyweight debut in July. The win has opened up an opportunity for his title shot. UFC 295 is scheduled to take place on November 11 at Madison Square Garden in New York City, with the complete current lineup composed of various fights including Jon Jones vs. Stipe Miocic and Jiri Prochazka vs. Alex Pereira.

The rest of the main card comes with more star power. Getting their hands dirty at UFC 295 are Jiri Prochazka and Alex Pereira, we also get to see Matt Frevola vs. Benoit St. Denis, as well as Matt Schnell vs. Steve Erceg.
