UFC 298 Fight Card: Robert Whittaker vs. Paulo Costa, Geoff Neal vs. Ian Machado Garry Confirmed

UFC 298 in Anaheim will feature former middleweight champion Robert Whittaker against Paulo Costa and a welterweight bout between Geoff Neal and Ian Machado Garry, with the main event being a featherweight title fight between Alexander Volkanovski and Ilia Topuria.

Big news! UFC 298 just got juicier with two headline-worthy bouts set for Anaheim, Calif.

Dana White, the big boss over at UFC, dropped the deets on Instagram. Former middleweight champ Robert Whittaker is gunning for a comeback against Paulo Costa. These two were meant to throw down at UFC 284, but Costa bailed over contract beef.

Whittaker’s last octagon dance didn’t go so hot. He got TKO’d by Dricus Du Plessis at UFC 290. But before that? He schooled Marvin Vettori in Paris, 2022.

Costa’s been MIA since his slugfest win over Luke Rockhold last August at UFC 278. He was all set to rumble with Khamzat Chimaev, but a nasty staph infection benched him.

There’s more! Geoff Neal and Ian Machado Garry are finally squaring off. Their welterweight clash got postponed twice. Third time’s the charm, right?

Neal’s itching to bounce back. His last outing? Not so great. Shavkat Rakhmonov choked out his chances at UFC 285.

Machado Garry’s riding high from his win over Neil Magny. He was eyeing Vicente Luque next, but then pneumonia played spoiler.

Mark your calendars! Feb. 17 at the Honda Center is where it’s all going down. And hey, featherweight gold’s on the line too – Alexander Volkanovski vs. Ilia Topuria. Can’t miss that!
