UFC 298 to Feature Anthony Hernandez vs. Ikram Aliskerov Match

Middleweight fighters Anthony Hernandez and Ikram Aliskerov are set to face off at UFC 298 on February 17 at the Honda Center in Anaheim, California.

Anthony Hernandez and Ikram Aliskerov, they’re on a collision course. It’s gonna be a middleweight showdown at UFC 298.

Sources spilled the beans to MMA Fighting about the matchup, and it’s all going down on Friday. The venue? The Honda Center in Anaheim, California. The date? February 17.

Now, Hernandez, this guy’s got a record of 11-2, with one no contest. He’s been on a roll, winning four straight fights. His victories include some big names like Edmen Shahbazyan, Marc-Andre Barriault, and Rodolfo Vieira. That last one, it was a finalist for MMA Fighting’s 2021 Submission of the Year.

They call him “Fluffy”, don’t ask me why. He’s a 30-year-old veteran, with a 5-2 overall record in the octagon. He’s had a couple of stumbles though, against Kevin Holland and Markus Perez.

Then there’s Aliskerov. He’s 15-1, a rising star in the 185-pound category. Born and bred in Dagestan, he’s been impressive in his UFC career. He’s knocked out Phil Hawes and Warlley Alves in the first round.

But he’s not invincible. He lost to Khamzat Chimaev in a 2019 fight under the Brave FC banner.

UFC 298’s main event? A featherweight title bout. It’s Alexander Volkanovski, the reigning champ, versus Ilia Topuria, who’s yet to taste defeat.

And hey, credit where it’s due, Damon Martin helped out with this report.
