UFC 303 has undergone several changes due to injuries, resulting in a new main event featuring Alex Pereira defending his light heavyweight title against Jiri Prochazka, and a co-main event between Brian Ortega and Diego Lopes, with other notable fights including Anthony Smith vs. Roman Dolidze, Mayra Bueno Silva vs. Macy Chiasson, and Ian Machado Garry vs. Michael Page.
UFC 303 has seen numerous changes recently. The finalized lineup was revealed just a week before the event.
Conor McGregor‘s injury forced him out of his return fight against Michael Chandler. The UFC scrambled to fill the spot.
Jamahal Hill, former light heavyweight champion, also dropped out. His opponent, Carlos Ulberg, followed suit.
Now, Alex Pereira headlines UFC 303 in a short-notice title defense. He faces Jiri Prochazka in a rematch for the light heavyweight belt.
Their first encounter at UFC 295 saw Pereira claim the vacant title with a knockout win. Prochazka seeks revenge this time around.
The new co-main event features Brian Ortega and Diego Lopes. Ortega is a two-time featherweight title challenger; Lopes is a rising star.
Anthony Smith steps in as a replacement for Hill. He faces Roman Dolidze at 205 pounds after Ulberg’s injury.
The main card also includes two original fights. Mayra Bueno Silva battles Macy Chiasson at bantamweight.
Ian Machado Garry takes on Michael “Venom” Page at welterweight. These bouts remain unchanged from the initial lineup.
