UFC Austin: Beneil Dariush, Arman Tsarukyan, Bobby Green Hit with 6-Month Medical Suspensions

UFC Austin headliners Beneil Dariush and Bobby Green, along with several other fighters, need medical clearance to avoid a six-month suspension following their recent matches.

Beneil Dariush and Bobby Green, both lightweight veterans and headliners at UFC Austin, are among those who might face a six-month suspension. They need medical clearance to dodge this.

The Texas Department of Licensing and Regulation (TDLR) recently released medical suspensions from the event. They oversee the state’s combative sports program. The event took place last Saturday at Austin’s Moody Center and aired on ESPN+.

Both Dariush and Green suffered severe knockout losses. They lost to Arman Tsarukyan and Jalin Turner in the main and co-main events, respectively. Despite his win, Tsarukyan also needs medical clearance to avoid a long sit-out.

Kerry Hatley, the referee in Green’s match, faced widespread criticism for his stoppage timing. A TDLR spokesperson mentioned that the commission would review the bout for errors. However, they didn’t clarify whether any action would be taken.
