UFC HOF Mark Coleman to Award BMF Belt to Gaethje vs. Holloway Winner at UFC 300

UFC Hall of Famer Mark Coleman, who recently survived a house fire, will crown the “BMF” champion at UFC 300, following a suggestion by current champ Justin Gaethje and Max Holloway.

Mark Coleman, UFC Hall of Famer, might just be the world’s “baddest motherf*****”. He’s had a brush with death, you see. Now, he’s set to crown the “BMF” champ at UFC 300.

The current “BMF” champ is Justin Gaethje. He’s up against Max Holloway in a featured bout this Saturday. They’ve suggested Coleman do the honors of crowning the winner.

Why Coleman, you ask? Well, he’s been through some stuff. A house fire in his native Ohio, for starters. It was a close shave, landing him in the hospital with severe smoke inhalation.

But it gets worse. Coleman suffered burns while rescuing his parents from their burning home. The house, where he grew up, caught fire while they were all asleep. He spent several days in the hospital recovering from his injuries.

At the UFC 300 pre-fight press conference, someone asked Dana White, UFC CEO, about Coleman crowning the winner. His response? A simple, “done!”

Coleman’s not the first to honor the “BMF” champ, though. Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson did it first, crowning Jorge Masvidal, the first titleholder. Masvidal then crowned Gaethje after he knocked out Dustin Poirier last July.

UFC 300 is the cherry on top of a crazy month for Coleman. He’s a former UFC heavyweight champ and Hall of Famer. He was recently gifted tickets to the Las Vegas event by his former promoter.

Gaethje and Holloway’s fight is one of three five-round fights at UFC 300. There’s also a strawweight title fight between Zhang Weili and Yan Xiaonan. And in the main event, Alex Pereira defends his light heavyweight title against Jamahal Hill.
