UFC

Irish fans no longer have to wait to see the UFC back in Dublin. The UFC has announced the return to take place in the summer of 2020.

The event is slated to take place on Saturday, August 15th at the 3Arena. The announcement also states that tickets will be available for sale on June 26th.

This will be just the 4th time that the UFC will be hosting on Irish soil. The most recent UFC event in Dublin, Ireland was UFC Fight Night: Holohan vs Smolka. The card took place on October 24th, 2015. Irish hometown favorite Paddy Holohan headlined the card with another familiar name, Darren Till also featured on the card.

UFC Fight Night: Mcgregor vs Brandao was the most popular event in Irish MMA history. UFC superstar Conor McGregor made just his 3rd UFC appearance and defeated Diego Brandao by TKO. McGregor has not returned to fight in Ireland since than.

McGregor has stated his desire to return to fight in his hometown of Dublin, Ireland. The ‘Notorious’ last fought at UFC 246 in January of 2020 and defeated Donald Cerrone via TKO. With McGregor’s desire to remain active this year, can we see the McGregor make his much anticipated return in front of his home fans?
