UFC’s Exciting Comeback to China Promised for December

The UFC is returning to Shanghai on December 9th for their first event since the COVID-19 pandemic, with the promotion yet to announce the fighters for the main event.

The UFC’s much-anticipated return to Shanghai has finally been confirmed for December 9th after months of speculation. Although the promotion has yet to disclose the fighters who will headline the event, it marks a significant milestone as it will be the first UFC show since the COVID-19 pandemic began.

Back in 2019, the UFC ventured to China for a Fight Night event. The highlight of the evening was the clash between then-strawweight champion Jessica Andrade and Zhang Weili in Shenzhen. In a breathtaking display of skill, Zhang Weili clinched victory within a mere 42 seconds, securing the coveted title in impressive fashion.

Shanghai, on the other hand, hosted the UFC only once in November 2017. The eagerly awaited event saw Michael Bisping step in as a last-minute replacement for Anderson Silva. Unfortunately, Bisping’s efforts were futile, as he succumbed to Kelvin Gastelum, resulting in the final bout of his illustrious career.

This upcoming event serves as a beacon of hope, symbolizing the UFC’s determination to navigate through the challenging landscape posed by the pandemic. As fans eagerly await the announcement of the headline fighters, anticipation continues to build for what promises to be an unforgettable night of exhilarating fights in Shanghai.
