MMA World Mourns The Loss Of Kobe Bryant

Around 2 pm ET yesterday my friend send me a message that reported Kobe Bryant, 41 had died. My natural response anytime you hear headlines like that is pure denial.

Sure enough, the news was confirmed as the day went on. It was an emotional roller coaster that I hope to never ride again. One can only imagine what Vanessa Bryant and the family are going through.

Kobe Bryant’s legend on the court needs no explaining. The ‘Black Mamba’ was more than a basketball player. He was a family man, role model, and inspiration to so many.  He spoke very highly of his daughter Gianna, who also died in the crash. If there’s one thing in life that stuck with me since hearing the shocking story, that nothing in life is promised.

Gianna and Bryant were on their way to practice similar to many other trips they had taken in the past. Little did they know it was going to be their last morning. The thought is horrific and should always remind us what really matters in life. Let your family, friends and even that stranger know they are loved because that’s what Kobe Bryant would be doing right now.

MMA World Reacts to Bryant’s Death

Kobe had strong ties to the MMA world. He attended UFC events and was also a part-owner of UFC sponsored sports drink BodyArmour. The MMA community was quick to show support and love.
