Rose Namajunas Pulls out of UFC 249 Bout

Rose “Thug” Namajunas has pulled out of her UFC 249 bout against Jessica Andrade.

Namajunas, who is the former strawweight champion was scheduled to rematch Jessica Andrade at UFC 249 which will take place on April 18th. Andrade defeated Namajunas at UFC 237 to capture the strawweight title. The UFC has not announced if a replacement opponent will step in to face Andrade.

Jessica Andrade last stepped into the octagon August 31st against Zhang Weili to defend her strawweight title. Weili defeated Andrade via 1st round KO to become the first ever Chinese UFC champion.

The Namajunas camp or the UFC did not provide any reason why Rose pulled out. Namajunas vs Andrade was touted to co headline the UFC 249 event which is expected to take place on Native American soil in California.

UFC 249 will be headlined by a lightweight division fight for the interim lightweight championship between Tony Ferguson and Justin Gaethje. Gaethje is stepping in to replace Khabib Nurmagomedov.
