This marks the first time UFC has allowed fans to attend their events since UFC 248 on March 7th at the T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas, Nevada. Fans have not been allowed to UFC events since due to the coronavirus pandemic. The UFC has only held events in either “Fight Island” or their UFC Apex Facility in Las Vegas, Nevada. Fans attending the event are mandated to follow strict protocols to attend the event like health screenings, no bags or strollers, and face masks have to be worn at all times.

The first event on “Fight Island” will be headlined by former UFC featherweight champion Max Halloway vs. Calvin Kattar at featherweight in the main event on January 16th. Both fighters are looking to become the number one contender for the featherweight championship. Neil Magny vs. Micheal Chiesa headlines the next event on January 20th in a welterweight main event. The fight was supposed to be the co-main event, but Leon Edwards vs. Khazmat Chimaev got postponed. UFC 257 takes place on January 23rd with the highly anticipated rematch between former lightweight champion Conor McGregor vs. former interim lightweight champion Dustin Poirier. The fight will be contested at lightweight, with the winner possibly in line for a lightweight title fight.
